Asian Australian Volunteers (AAV) is seeking passionate individuals to assist in our Victorian Community Food Relief Program, aimed at supporting vulnerable community members facing food insecurity. Thanks to the support of the Victorian Government, we are able to deliver this exciting project in collaboration with our partner, the Asian Multicultural Organisation, to ensure better results. Together, we will provide healthy, culturally appropriate food and connect people to broader services like financial wellbeing and food literacy.
As a volunteer or short-term staff member, you will:
-Assist with the distribution of food and groceries
-Help maintain a sustainable food model, supporting community-led initiatives
-Engage with individuals and families to ensure they access necessary services and supports
-Contribute to strengthening partnerships and networks to enhance community food access
Requirements:
-Strong commitment to helping disadvantaged communities
-Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
-Flexibility with hours (part-time and short-term positions available)
Benefits:
-Volunteers will receive transport/fuel allowance
-Short-term staff will be paid $25-$35/hour, depending on the role
-Paid roles are limited and only provided to those who meet our selection criteria
