Asian Australian Volunteers (AAV) recently held a remarkable Volunteer Celebration Night concert on Saturday, 24 June, 2023. The event was generously supported by the Victorian Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA). The primary objective of the concert was to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding achievements of AAV’s volunteers, while promoting volunteering within multicultural communities. Deputy Chairperson of Victorian Multicultural Commission Mr. Bwe Thay, Federal Member for Chisholm Dr. Carina Garland MP, State Member for Clarinda Mr. Meng Heang Tak MP, and Mayor of the City of Monash Tina Samardzija delivered speeches commending the invaluable contributions of AAV volunteers. Other esteemed guests included State Member for Box Hill Mr. Paul Hamer MP, State Member for Ashwood Mr. Matt Fregon MP, Deputy Mayor of Glen Eira City Li Zhang, etc.
The guest speakers expressed their gratitude and encouraged others to follow in their footsteps, emphasizing the pivotal role volunteers play in shaping a cohesive and inclusive society.
The concert showcased a variety of amazing performances that captivated the audience. From instrumental ensembles to dance routines and captivating vocal performances, the talents of AAV and the Melbourne Chinese Orchestra left the spectators thoroughly entertained.
